This is by far my favorite design and build (so far) because I went into this build with full confidence in my design 3-dimensionally. I cut the joinery with absolute precision in a quick fashion. The build took five days to fully complete, which for me is exceptionally fast. without the drawer I could have done it in three and a half days. Walnut is also just a breathtaking wood, adding to my visual enjoyment of the piece. I find myself more drawn to these bold angles with strong edges. I also enjoy the anthropomorphic nature of this piece. He’s just a little guy. Like some sort of comedic relief robot in an 80’s genre defining space-conflict film. Except he’s made of wood and in my living room.
