The Maeflower Lounger is the first chair I have designed and built. I’ve worked on other chairs, but I have never been solely responsible for every aspect of the build. It was quite difficult. The whole piece is angled on multiple axes which meant a whole lot of head scratching for yours truly. Thankfully, once you’ve figured that kind of joinery out once it becomes a lot easier to manage on future projects.

I learned a lot on this piece. I think of it more as a lesson in the design and construction process than a flagship piece of furniture. I made three of these. Two for my clients and one in my home. it is quite comfortable, and my cats enjoy sitting on it thoroughly.
